FULL METROID SUIT PEPAKURA PATTERNS, SUITABLE FOR FOAM ONLY
Experience with pepakura highly recommended.

This kit contains the pepakura patterns to assemble the Samus Metroid suit as seen in Metroid: Dread. Pepakura files at a 1:1 scale suitable for a small female (5’4″/ 130lbs), i recommend sizing up pieces where suitable if you are bigger. This is a great video on how you can scale pepakura patterns more accurately for your size without blowing up all pieces in scale: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QG2YFwpU4ck

Description

The model is designed after the original game model with some crucial adjustments to fit a human shape better, such as a bigger helmet, adjusted chest, waist and leg length. The pattern seams are aligned with the lines in the suit reference itself, so minimal seams are achieved. You can emphasize these lines in 3D by lightly dremeling the edges before glueing the edges together.
To get the least additional seams possible, merge small darts in the patterns together and heatshape where possible. You should only cut along the red shell lines. To avoid having it look like a polygonal model, make sure to ‘make up’ by rounding off the polygonal shapes where needed, and add sharp corners where the reference suit requires them.
Only one version of each armor piece is added, you can mirror or duplicate patterns to get the other side.

The 3D models for these pepakura patterns are specifically modified with eva foam assembly in mind: all extra faces are cleaned away and foam thickness of 5-10mm is taken into account with most pieces. I highly recommend basic pepakura assembly knowledge and experience with EVA foam.
As such, these pepakura patterns are NOT suitable for traditional paper craft or fiberglass building.

It’s not the same suit, but it may help you with general direction.

The 3d models used to make these patterns are created and/or modified by me. PDF printouts are also supplied if you do not want to install Pepakura, but the 3d preview helps a ton in assembly and i do not recommend attempting it without a Pepakura preview.

The pattern files are packed in a ZIP format. Once unpacked, pdo files can be opened by Pepakura Designer or Pepakura Viewer. These programs are free to use.
