Eye blink kit for DIY animatronic

Description

Length of USB cable to power switch: ~280mm
Length of cable from power switch to chip: ~200mm
Length of individual cables from chip to either eye assembly: ~300mm with option to add 1000mm servo extension cables. Extension is not needed if you plan to mount the chip, battery and switch near the head.
One fully assembled (1 inch) eye measures a bounding box of 45mm height, 53mm width, 35mm depth, with two M3 mounting holes to the top (near the eyebrow area).
The 1.25 inch eye size option increases the width by approx 5mm.
The inner corners of the blink have intentionally designed open space to glue fabric or rubber eyelid corners without affecting the mechanism.
Arduino data points used: D4 (left), D6 (right). If reprogrammed, unplug the servo horn to prevent damage to the motor when testing.

Each eye can be unplugged individually, but do not swap left and right servo cable plugs.
Low power use, will run for more than 24h hours on small powerbanks (3000mah).
Eyelids may be rotated by hand when the power is off, it will automatically reset when powered on.
Please do not disassemble, the components may be damaged if reassembled incorrectly.

Eye size option, diameter:
1 inch/25mm, depth 12mm
1.25 inch/30mm, depth 15mm
Sizes are approximate and may vary 1 to 2mm. The 1 inch option works well for realistic canines and more, and the 1.25 inch option is great for werewolves or small feline masks that need a larger scale for proportion.

Eye color option: Blank | White | Red | Orange | Yellow | Green | Blue
Blank is just the transparent glass itself, no pupil or backing. You can print your own eye details on photopaper and glue it to the back with E6000 for custom eyes. Eyes have a perfect fit inside the set and can be removed during assembly, but for final permanent fitting you can glue them.
Other colors are color of choice iris printed on glossy paper, permanently glued to the back of the acrylic half sphere.

LED light:
Optionally add LED lights, one LED is positioned behind each eye in the same color as the chosen iris color. LED can be switched on/off individually with an additional power switch of the same type. LEDs are single color only at this moment.

You’re going to want to mount the eyes slightly tilted (canthal tilt) and diagonally (seen from the top) for the best realistic look and not a puppet look. This usually also frees up even more space in masks.
The only tool necessary is a small to medium sized philips (cross) screwdriver. You may have to mark mounting holes and pre-drill your mask to be able to screw into.
